About The Cambodia Peace Gallery
The Cambodia Peace Gallery, opened in 2018, serves as a space for reflection and learning on Cambodia’s journey from war towards peace and a positive future; presenting the long, complicated Cambodian history characterised by structural violence emerged from the past atrocities, while celebrating the work of Cambodian peacebuilders that have helped move the country past war.
We offer a range of peace education programs and guided tours to bring our guests to go deeper into peacebuilding and reconciliation in Cambodia following three decades of violence. Our exhibits highlight the resilience and creativity of peacebuilding initiatives to rebuild the country.

The Story Behind Our Vision
Producer: Karlos Manlupig.
A Peace Gallery for Cambodians towards national reconciliation
Cambodia has come a long way since the end of conflict. The Cambodia Peace Gallery hopes to contribute to the ongoing national dialogue about Cambodia’s conflict, enabling Cambodians to share and recount their experiences without fear and together create a common understanding of the past.
It was designed primarily for young Cambodians to learn about the remarkable and innovative approaches to peacebuilding, contributing to positive national pride.
Celebrate the work of Cambodian peacebuilders
The Peace Gallery highlights and celebrates the personal transformation of Cambodian peacebuilders and how their experiences with conflict became their motivation to work for peace, as part of the wider story of peace and reconciliation work in the country.
Our vision is that the Peace Gallery is a transformative experience, explaining Cambodia’s dynamic story and showcasing the resilience & creativity of Cambodians in such a way that visitors are inspired to become actors for peace.
Inspire future-oriented vision for the country
After a long history of conflict, Cambodians as a people have demonstrated great resilience in dealing with and overcoming the adversity that is linked to a post-conflict context. But this inherent resilience is something that is least talked about. There is a distinct lack of an inclusive and future-oriented vision that could play a significant role in working towards national reconciliation.
The Peace Gallery will help alleviate feelings of shame and encourage all of us to embrace our past in ways that motivate a more peaceful future.
